Classroom set of The Daily Himalayan, which is made up of excerpts from Jon Krakauer's book Into Thin Air
Assignment:
Today the students will take a quiz over Trapped on Everest.
We will talk a little bit about their final Everest project and the students will begin their expedition to the top of Everest by reading excerpts of Jon Krakauer's Into Thin Air and seeing powerpoint slides of the places that we travel on the mountain.
Today we will learn about the Sherpa people and the commercialization of Everest. We will also make our trek to Everest's Base Camp.

Journal #1--Answer the following questions. Minimum 1/2 page
Why do you want to clilmb Everest?
How are you going to pay for your $100,000 expedition?
What are your fears about climbing Everst?
DUE THURSDAY!
Please answer these through creative writing, but make sure that it is realistic. All of your journals will be based off of what actually happened to Jon Krakauer and the teams Mountain Madness and Adventure Consultants.
