Assignment:
Today the students are paraphrasing the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost in groups. They are then answering the following questions:

1. What do you think the poem means to Ponyboy?
2. What would be considered "gold" in Ponyboy's life?
3. Why can "nothing gold stay"?
4. How does this poem foreshadow events to come?

The students are reminded that they need to have chapters 8-12 read by their block period.

There will be a quiz over chapters 8-12 this Friday.

The Outsiders test will be next Tuesday, February 4th.

Their character projects will be due next Friday, February 7th.
