Journal Assignments 4 and 5 are due today during class.

I handed out a permission slip for the play Over the River and Through the Woods that the 8th grade class will be going to see on February 11th. These permission slips need to be back, signed, and include ticket money by this Friday.

The students had the opportunity to look at their midterm grade and discuss any questions they might have about what they are missing.

The students got back their Native American Presentation scores and comments. Questions were answered if the students had a concern with the score.

The students listened and followed along with chapter 4 of The Outsiders

The students discussed their timelines in groups.

We learned two new vocabulary words--Foreshadowing and Premonition--both to be in their notes.

Assignment--Journal #6--Due Wednesday
Answere the following questions in two organized paragraphs. Use complete sentences and restate the question in your answer.

1. Do you think Johnny would go to jail for the murder of Bob? Why or why not?
2. If the roles of Johnny and Bob were switched, and Bob killed Johnny because a gang of Greasers attacked him and Randy, would Bob go to jail for murder? Why or why not?

Please use evidence from the book and discussions we have had about socioecononic status to back up your opinions.

There will be a quiz over chapters 4-7 on Thursday.
