Assignment:
Today the students turned in their comic strips for the books The Outsiders and Rumble Fish. We discussed the free write from Thursday. Today I introduced what the students will be working on next week for their in-depth character study project.
This project will be due next Friday.
Outsider's Character Project
1. Write a poem from your character's perspective about a situation that is bothering him/her. (This will be a type of vent/frustration poem.)
2. Create something visual that displays your character's personality traits.
3. Have your character write a letter to another character that they might have conflicts with or don't see or interact with every day.
These projects will be graded on how well you dive into the personality of your character. Each piece will be worth 10 points for a total of 30 points.
