The students and I discussed the social profiles they created based on the 8th grade students in the middle school and talked about stereotypes and hierarchies.
Assignment: Try to finish the book over the long weekend.

Create a comic strip (storyboard/timeline) from your character's perspective. Include full sentence captions under each box. It must be in color, except for those who chose the character Motorcycle Boy. No stick figures. Cover all of the main events of the book up to chapter 7 (up to chapter 8 for Rumble Fish). Use the paper provided by Mrs. Noonan. Be creative...not all of the characters are included in every main event that happens in the book. What do you think your character was doing while these events were occuring. Write the captions as if they were from your character's perspective. Please include thoughts, feelings, and the personality of your character in your captions.
