Assignment:
Today the students shared their concrete poems (journal #6) in groups.
They can publish these on my walls if they choose to by rewriting them on typing paper.

We looked at the author Langston Hughes and I had them take some notes about the Harlem Renaissance before we read the poem "Harlem Night Song".

The students have a quiz tomorrow over everything that we have covered with poetry up to yesterday in class.

ASSIGNMENT: Write a one page story based off of the poem "Harlem Night Song".
-Create specific characters
-The story must have a beginning, middle, and end (plot).
-Please take the time period this poem was written in into consideration when writing your story.
-This will be handed in in final copy quality.
